DS Meet Picking Up The Wi-Fi Connection Slack?
If you are like me you’ve been enjoying everything Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection has to offer in its initial release but you are also hopeful to have some additional features to connect and enjoy playing with other gamers even more. DS Meet is a new site that is working to provide a free service for online DSers to address some of the communal shortcomings of the current implementation of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
We [DS Meet] are custom building a website to allow Nintendo DS players to meet, chat, share friend codes and lists, notify others of their status on your list and vise-versa, arrange tournaments, and more! You will be able to comment on other players (like that cheat who keeps signing off), and rank your own skill level. You can even rank the skill of others! All of these factors can be used for a customized skill-level search. You will even be able to find players from your own city, state, or country!
Currently in an alpha state and only on our radar as of yesterday, The Game Chair has yet to register and explore the offerings any further. As the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection network evolves and expands, I hope that Nintendo will explore sites like DS Meet as well as the feedback being documented by gamers that all express interest in having more centralized control and deeper interactions with friends. From my experience so far I’d like a little of Live with my Wi-Fi Connection. There must be a really nice hybrid to be crafted for us however in the mean time it is fun to see individual efforts like DS Meet step up to attempt to make the online experience that much more enjoyable.
